I grew up near Boulder, Colorado, and attended college at Metropolitan State University of Denver, where I earned a bachelor's degree in Wildlife Biology. My mom loved the outdoors and often insisted I join her and her best friend on hikes around the Colorado Front Range. As a kid, I dabbled in snow sports like snowboarding and skiing, but I always knew that I preferred warmer temperatures.
Right before my 21st birthday, I got an email from my school’s Outdoor Adventure Center promoting a five-day camping and canyoneering trip to Moab. I took a leap and signed up and that trip changed everything. I spent my birthday hiking through red rock deserts, surrounded by spires and cliffs that made me feel small in the best possible way. I felt completely at home in that wild, harsh, beautiful place. Nature inspires me because it reminds me that vulnerability and strength can coexist, and that there’s beauty in both.
Climbing became a major passion after that Moab trip. I taught myself the basics through YouTube, bought a budget gear set, and started going to our local crag every weekend. I love the community it built: how everyone cheers each other on, how it’s never a competition, and how it gives people a place to belong. That’s the energy I try to bring to work. Showing up with empathy, encouragement, and gratitude for those around me. I want others to feel embraced and empowered, just like I did when I first discovered the outdoors.
When I’m not outside, I enjoy sitting near a window with a great view and dabbling in needlepoint, journaling, or watching a show. I bought a harmonica recently and maybe one day I'll learn to actually play it.
