4-Day Leadership Retreat for Deep Personal Growth & Change

Whether you are an individual seeking to find direction and spark life change, or a business leader seeking higher performance, this retreat is designed to instigate the lasting growth and change you need. It is a four-day inward journey set in the unique and spiritual landscape of Zion National Park. We seamlessly integrate our core leadership curriculum into two world class day adventures in nature combined with daily practices of meditation, breath work, yoga, and qigong. The results are powerful. There's no other retreat quite like this.

Core Leadership Development Curriculum

Our foundational leadership curriculum is essential for all types of leaders, innovators, and high-performance professionals. It is created and taught by two successful entrepreneurs that are passionate about helping others grow spiritually and professionally.

World Class Adventures in Nature

We planned two unforgettable day adventures to facilitate our leadership development curriculum: Canyoneering and Desert/River Hiking. You don't need to be an athlete or have special outdoors experience, but this is an active, movement, and adventure-based retreat.

Mental, Physical, and Spiritual Wellness

Whether you're already a master of mindfulness or this is new to you, you will benefit from our daily expert-led sessions including meditation, breath work, yoga, qigong, and nutrition education. You can take these powerful practices home with you for countless benefits in your life.

Canyoneering

Canyoneering is a unique opportunity that is unique to Zion’s geology. It is a perfect adventure to dive deep into our leadership prowess, as we travel through steep, ancient waterways using our bodies and group problem-solving skills to navigate obstacles. We manage risk and fear with immediate feedback. We explore unknowns as individuals and emerge as a team. We trust. We grow.

Zion Narrows River Hike

Group of people hiking through a shallow river in a canyon, with large rock walls covered in moss in the background.

Grandfather of desert slot canyons, The Zion Narrows is considered one of the best hikes on Earth. People visit from everywhere to see and experience this. For our retreat, we travel a living metaphor and refocus our life path by acknowledging the changes that have gotten us where we are, and also the changes we need to embrace in order to lead the life that we want. We provide the best gear to keep you dry and warm from your feet to your chest.

All-Inclusive Retreat & Lodging

We founded NamaStay Retreat Village in 2012 to host our retreats, just minutes from Zion National Park. We offer multiple lodging options including private cabins and suites or bedrooms in a beautiful shared house. View availability and retreat pricing lower on this page.

The 'Power to Be Moved' leadership retreat is a once-in-a-lifetime experience created by Jonathan Zambella (Owner & CEO of Zion Guru). Jonathan has helped organize and develop curriculum for many leadership retreats over the years. He created the 'Power to Be Moved' retreat with co-host and friend, Vaughn Cruz as a very personal project that is different from all other leadership retreats he’s been a part of.

Owner & CEO of Zion Guru Entrepreneur, Adventure Guide, Wellness Facilitator

There's no one better to experience Zion National Park with than Jonathan Zambella. He founded Zion Guru in 1996, and since then his company has provided retreats, guided tours, wellness events, and rental gear to tens of thousands of adventure-seeking visitors from around the globe. His motto is "You have a friend in Zion".

From Jonathan:

If you want to move in the direction of betterment in all aspects of your life, the 'Power to Be Moved' retreat is designed for you. Most leadership training is very buzz-wordy and trendy, but its effects are soon worn off after a few weeks. I designed this retreat to provide the beginning of deep, transformational growth in your life and career. Our facilitated outdoor adventures in nature have the unique power to spur the mind, body and spirit toward challenge, awe, and the changes we need.

I only preach what I practice and use time wisely in our retreats to help others maximize their talents and rewards. During the retreat, I will focus on leading the core leadership curriculum, adventure-based activities, meditation, qigong, nutrition education, and resilience training. My goal is to create a foundation and framework for your life path to increase your joy, health, and abilities as a family member, friend, professional, and serving member of your community.

Vaughn Cruz

Owner & CEO of Earthworks Construction Entrepreneur, Holistic Health Instructor

Vaughn was carefully chosen to be the co-host of 'Power to Be Moved' for his grounded presence and commitment to bridging the worlds of high-performance leadership and inner alignment. As a very knowledgable instructor of mind-body practices, he will help shape your application of these practices into your daily life for the maximum personal and professional benefits.

From Vaughn:

I couldn't be more excited to co-host this unique leadership retreat with my friend, Jonathan. I'm a construction entrepreneur and holistic health instructor on a mission to bridge two powerful but often separate worlds: outer achievement and inner awareness. During the retreat, I will focus on leading yoga, breath work, pranayama, meditation, and practical leadership development.

I'm here to share the most impactful lessons that have shaped me as a leader - lessons learned through direct experience, not theory. My goal is to deliver these insights and tools in a fast, effective, and practical way. No fluff. Just what works. This approach saves you time, spares you from prolonged struggle, and empowers you to step fully into your role as a leader - clear, grounded, and aligned.

‘Power to Be Moved’ Framework

Everyone has the power to be a leader and live the life they want. In Tim Ferriss’ best-selling book ‘Tools of Titans: The Tactics, Routines, and Habits of Billionaires, Icons, and World-Class Performers’, he interviews more than 200 executives, leaders, and world-class performers. More than 80% practice some form of mindfulness or meditation. Our leadership retreat was designed as a powerful inward journey that teaches you how to transform into a more powerful, authentic, and successful person. The benefits are lifelong if you embrace what we teach you.

  • You explore a deeper sense of self, going beyond ego. Increase self-awareness. Through daily practicum you dive deeper into understanding your physical, mental, and spiritual caliber and resilience. With self-mastery clearer paths of leadership are revealed.

  • You gain a better understanding of your limits. You explore who you are as a risk manager, teacher and leader and practice tools to enhance your skillsets through yoga, qigong, meditation, reflection, and adventure based sports such as canyoneering. Leaders learn how to go first and help others go beyond them.

  • You establish a deeper connection to nature. You grow to understand your relationship with nature and its value in your life. You explore the nature within and around you and learn how to tap into its endless energy. Nature teachers leaders how to move in balance and in right relationship with all things.

  • You gain gratitude for your gifts. Daily you will practice working with and sharing your skills and life wisdom. This inner knowing that is the foundation of your life wisdom has endless lessens to elevate your path to wise leadership.

  • Regulate breath and manage your nervous system for optimal performance in high stakes moments as well as daily wellness. In seconds, breath can dilute nerves and support you to lead with great clarity and focus.
