Lead Technical/Scenic Guide (He/Him/His)

Hi, my name’s Harold! I grew up on a multi-generational potato farm in Idaho and have always loved being outside and working with my hands. I’ve lived and worked in Zion since 2018 and feel truly at home among the incredible sandstone peaks and canyons of this place.

I earned a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in both Environmental Studies and Japanese. My initial love for outdoor rec and education developed while working at both the university’s rock climbing gym and ropes challenge course.

My favorite activities include climbing, canyoneering, hiking, backpacking, caving, enjoying time with friends, and playing board games with way too many rules. I love the paradise that is Zion, and I’d love to share time exploring its rich history with you.
