Jennifer Goodman
Yoga Hike Guide/Yoga Teacher
I grew up in a little country town outside of Detroit, Michigan. As a child I loved to play outdoors. My brother and I would play in the piles of leaves, build snow forts, swim in the creeks, ride bikes, cross country ski, and our whole family played softball. At the age of five I started taking ballet and I loved it so much it became my career. After graduating from high school I moved to New York and joined the Joffrey Ballet. I danced with the company for 16 years then continued a freelance career dancing in operas and as a guest artist in schools and companies around the world. Towards the end of my dancing career I began practicing yoga which I also fell in love with and became certified as a teacher. I've been teaching yoga for about 15 years now with over 1000 hours of trainings, many trips to India, and a variety of yoga modalities. After living in the big cities of New York and Chicago for about 30 years I yearned to connect back to nature and moved out to Southern Utah in 2020. This ignited my love for hiking.
A couple years later I attended a yoga retreat with my teacher at Nama-stay and met Jonathan and Catrin who invited me to become part of the Zion Guru team as a yoga hike guide and yoga teacher. I love introducing people to the magic of practicing yoga in nature and the healing, calming affects nature provides.
