Zion Guru has opened up many doors for me to engage in the outdoors even more than before. When I take a bike ride with my friends and get to show them how beautiful Zion is, the world’s worries just melt. Even when I get to take them canyoneering and they get to step out of their comfort zone! Canyoneering has been the greatest thing I’ve learned, it’s so empowering and it truly shows your mind how to connect to the structure of the outdoors. I feel it’s not often we get to step out of our 2D lives and have our bodies lead our way. The outdoors are my therapy and my happy place.

I hope to be able to help more people enjoy this beautiful location, whether that be hiking the Narrows, taking an e-bike, hoping on a canyoneering tour or just simply taking a nice walk here in Zion.

I moved from Colorado to sunny St.George Utah when I was 4, and have been here since. I didn’t have much interest in the outdoors until around my high school years. It wasn’t something I had growing up other than sports, like soccer or rugby.

Suddenly, my older sister would take me camping in the fall and hiking during the summer. I remember tubing in rivers, swimming in lakes, and hiking peaks when I was with her. My interest in the outdoors grew thanks to her. My sister and I weren’t very close growing up, since we had a 9-year age gap. Once I was old enough to go explore the outdoors with her, we started spending more time together. She has inspired me and shown me how healing the outdoors can be.

When I need to clear my mind or disconnect from life’s uncertainties, I look to nature.
