With Self-Drive, guests are responsible for transportation to and from their travel accommodations, including travel from the arrival airport and to the departure airport. Transportation to and from all tour activities is provided as necessary.

We can tailor the tour to a wide range of ages, however, guests aged 5+ tend to get the most out of the experience.

Adventure Tours are private to your group. Tours can be operated for individuals or groups of up to twelve.

Larger groups may be accommodated, though additional planning considerations would need to be discussed prior to booking. Contact us if you have any questions.

This tour can accommodate guests of all ability levels and activities can be adapted as needed to suit individual capabilities. Moderate fitness is recommended for certain activities, such as canyoneering or hiking more than two miles into the Narrows. We tailor the pace to the group and always provide ample breaks for rest and hydration throughout the trip.

Not at all! Our guides provide full instruction and safety gear. Beginners are welcome.

We’ve designed these tours to give you the flexibility to choose accommodations that best match your preferences and budget. Our team is always happy to share local insight and recommendations during the booking process.

Transportation to all adventure activities is provided by Zion Guru as necessary, with the exception of hikes along the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive (including through the Narrows and to Angel’s Landing) during the Zion National Park shuttle season. During this time, guides will accompany guests on the park shuttles, as private vehicles are not permitted on the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive, including before shuttle service begins and after it ends. For more details, please refer to the shuttle schedule on NPS.gov.

We will send a complete packing list after booking, but essentials include:

• Quick-drying clothing

• Hiking shoes

• Sun protection (Hat, sunscreen, sun hoodies, etc.)

• Reusable water bottle

• Personal toiletries

All technical gear (hiking poles, canyoneering harnesses, helmets, dry bags, dry-gear, river shoes, climbing shoes, safety equipment, etc.) is included.

Spring (March–May) and fall (September–November) are ideal seasons, offering mild temperatures and generally stable weather. Summer tours are typically scheduled earlier or later in the day to avoid peak heat, while winter tours highlight quieter landscapes and striking seasonal scenery.

The weather in Zion can change quickly, but our guides are trained to adapt. If conditions become unsafe (e.g. flash flooding, sudden storms), we’ll adjust the itinerary and substitute equally stunning alternative hikes or activities.

Yes. All Zion Guru guides hold Wilderness First Responders certifications, receive training in technical canyoneering skills, and are knowledgable in local geology, ecology, and interpretive guiding.

Yes. We obtain and manage all required National Park Service permits for hikes such as the Narrows and Angel’s Landing. Permits are subject to availability.
